MARBLE FLOORING TYPES

Every marble slab has its own unique streak of color and pattern. Marbles can be classified into 3 categories:
·         Dolomite- containing more than 40% magnesium carbonate.
·         Magnesium- containing magnesium between 5% and 40%.
·         Calcite- having less than 5% magnesium carbonate.
Types of marbles
Breccia- it tends to be a darker and warmer marble. Reds and deep brown colors are common and give a beautiful look to the countertops or floors.
Carrara- this classic marble can be seen in Roman and Greek fountains or statues. For flooring, this is one of the lightest marbles in pure white color.
Calacatta- this marble is generally confused with carrara marble, and even though they are similar, they enjoy different characteristics.
Limestone- it is a marble, yes, believe or don’t, and that too a popular one. An ideal option for washrooms, it is visibly porous and is often available in tan or beige colors.
